Reality of regional journalism and journalists
This study comes within the framework of “Towards free and responsible Journalism” project implemented by the United Group (UG) between 2006-2008 with the support of the US Agency for International Development (USAID).
The project also cooperates with Al-Ahram Regional Institute for Journalism and it largely aims to raise the legal awareness among journalists especially on a district level. This had taken place where the legal assistance unit of the project provided a legal consultant for each interested newspaper.
This study was issued based on a survey conducted with journalists of local newspapers on the condition of local press and its problems. We can proudly say that this is the first study of its kind in the field.
The study was prepared by Sobhi Eseila a researcher at Al-Ahram center for political and strategic studies.
