Crimes of journalism and publication
“Crimes of journalism and publication” is a book issued by the research and training unit of the United Group, it included a legal explanation to a number of cases pertaining to freedom of publication and media carrying Islamic jurisprudence perspective and verdicts of the court of appeal and the expertise of the author of the book in these kinds of cases.
This study contains work papers presented in a number of training courses organized for journalists and lawyers and organized in Egypt and Jordan – plus providing quick legal information which lawyers who work in cases of abuse and insults and other publication cases in general, and are also needed by journalists who have to abide by the law.
The study is written by Negad El-Borai, with the support of the Embassy of the Netherlands in Cairo. It consists of an introduction and two main parts; each has a number of chapters. The introduction discusses the principles of journalism.
The first part includes five chapters where it address legislative values and the crime of abuse and insult.
