Code of Professional Standards for Journalistic and Media Coverage of Migration and Asylum
This Code provides a framework of professional guidance for journalists, media professionals and media organisations at every stage of coverage, from planning and information gathering to interviewing, content production, publication and monitoring its impact. It also addresses informed consent, correction of errors and the updating of information where necessary.
The Code draws on Egyptian legislation, professional rules and standards, international human rights instruments, international refugee law, and relevant international professional guidance.
