The UG Law is issuing a legal paper outlining its observations on the bay law of the Foreigners’ Asylum Law No. 164 of 2024, issued by Prime Ministerial Decree No. 1568 of 2026.
The questions raised in the paper and the observations contained therein encourage civil society organizations to monitor the implementation of the law, to be prepared to provide legal aid to refugees, and to begin training lawyers to act as representatives of refugees before the Permanent High Committee. This includes providing technical assistance to the Committee itself upon request.
It will take some time for things to stabilize, but cooperation between the Permanent High Committee, relevant international and local organizations, and experts will contribute to this stabilization.
