Torture in Egypt
This report was prepared regard to the legal unit’s cases, an attempt to highlight the real crimes of torture and other cruel treatment in Egypt. The report presents an overview of the factors affecting the spread of torture crime in Egypt and shows the relationship between it and social and economic indicators. It should be noted that this report does not provide a comprehensive analysis of all components of torture crime and cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment in Egypt, since the first objective of the Legal Unit is to provide legal assistance to victims, which limits the scope of analysis this report.
