In the framework of the "Empowering Civil Society and the Legal Profession" project, implemented by the United Group with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), in adherence to the principle of continuous consultation with the Heads of Regional Unions of NGOs to implement the project in the governorates and explaining the planned activities. Dated Tuesday, March 09, the project organized the Fourth Consultative meeting for the Heads of the Regional Unions of NGOs of the target governorates.

In the framework of the "Empowering Civil Society and the Legal Profession" project, implemented by the United Group with the Support of the USAID, Port Said Legal Aid Unit held two raising awareness meetings, at the headquarters of Port Said's Regional Union of NGOs, for the associations that have signed protocols of cooperation with the United Group, on the 19th and 25th of January 2010.
The meetings were attended by Ms. Asmaa Badran, Deputy of Port Said's Directorate of Solidarity and Dr. Mahmoud Abdul Ghafoor, President of the Union. The meetings revolved around how to manage NGOs away from legal errors, particularly with regard to the procedures of convening General Assembly meetings and the technical, legal and practical problems that face associations in this regard. The first meeting was attended by the representatives of 23 associations, while the second was attended by 25, as well as Ms. Wafaa Wadea, representative of the USAID.
Ms. Asmaa Badran commended the role of Port Said Legal Aid Unit, which provided an important initiative to raise the awareness of the associations of the law and made a real connection between associations and both the Directorate of Solidarity and the Regional Union of NGOs.

The NGOs Legal Aid Unit of Aswan has been very active since its was launched at the headquarters of Aswan's the Regional Union of NGOs. Its activities are intense as it held legal awareness seminars in several parts of Aswan governorate, in which it provided NGOs with information about the Law of Associations, in order to be able to find solutions for the problems they face.
It held an expanded raising awareness meeting during the period 23-24 January 2010 on "resource development of NGOs according to the law." The meeting was held at the conference room of Aswan's Regional Union of NGOs, and attended by the representatives of 23 NGOs.
It was moderated by Mr. Ahmed Adel, the lawyer of the Unit, and Mr. Amer Saad delivered a lecture. The attendees found the meeting very beneficial and asked for providing such seminars to the NGOs that have signed protocols of cooperation with the United Group in the rest of Aswan's Governorate.
