The weekly article of Mr. Negad Al-Borai in Al-Masry Al-Youm Newspaper published on 10/22/2009, in which he tackles the issue of succession in Egypt, and the fuss that Dr. Ayman Nour is trying to make about this issue for the sole reason of attracting attention.

He compares between the situations of the sons that succeeded their fathers in ruling their countries like Ali Bongo in Gabon and Bashar Al-Assad in Syria and Mr. Gamal Mubarak, where he believes that Gamal Mubarak's situation is completely different from theirs, hence Mr. Negad believes that succession in Egypt is practically impossible, regardless of the popular opposition to it.

Consequently, what Dr. Ayman Nour is trying to do isn't opposing succession by blood rather than selection, but it is just an attempt to attract the attention that he lost after being released from prison deprived from his political rights, by law, and his separation from his wife, whose fighting for him represented an important part of his public image.

Mr. Negad reached three conclusions, first: Ayman Nour have chosen a very local word as the slogan of his campaign against succession, which used to be used by prostitutes in the twentieth of the last century and Dr. Ayman Nour picked it to be the title for returning back to political life just to attract the attention of the media.

The second is his keenness to work alone, as he handed over the invitations just few days before the conference, which didn't give room for anyone to have a say in the conference's agenda, audience or results. In turn most political actors boycotted his conference, where he became the focus of the media during the event in which the number of media representatives exceeded the number of the guests.

The third point is that Ghad Party and its leaders didn't participate in organizing this conference, rather they were just invited like all the other people.

Mr. Negad stresses that it is time for those who are looking for fame to leave a room for those who can shape public opinion that is capable of formulating Egypt's future in the transitional period we are witnessing.

Finally, Mr. Negad suggests that activating the alliance between opposition parties is a good solution in order to formulate a work program for the future.

Meanwhile, this alliance should take into account two important points. First: providing proposals to ensure the integrity of the upcoming parliamentary and presidential elections. Second: to agree upon one person, to run for the upcoming presidential elections and compete with candidate of the National Democratic Party and defeat him.
