Press Archive - By: Negad Al-Borai
The weekly article of Mr. Negad Al-Borai in Al-Masry Al-Youm Newspaper on 09/10/2009. The article tackles the issue of the sufferings witnessed by Egyptians working in Gulf countries.

The Egyptians who work in the Gulf countries faces unfair treatment, torture and imprisonment, in addition to the sponsor's system applied in some Gulf countries, which is like enslavement.

This highlights the fact that the Egyptian citizen who is suppressed in his homeland is suppressed abroad too, and that those who flee unemployment and corruption in their country encounter a more terrible situation abroad.

Furthermore, the article criticizes the weak stance of the Egyptian government towards this issue, as it treats it with neglect, indifference and it doesn't make use of its good relations with many of the Gulf States to improve the situation of the Egyptian workers there.

Finally, Al-Borai warns that the issue is serious as the interests and lives of the Egyptians are at risk, thanks to lax government policies, which will lead to the return of thousands of Egyptians to their country. Hence the government should take action to solve this issue.
