As part of its efforts to spread the activities of the "Empowering Civil Society and the Legal Profession" project, implemented by the United Group with the support of the USAID, the United Group signed a contract of agreement with Giza Regional Union of NGOs to establish a sub-Legal Aid unit for NGOs in the governorate. This agreement raises the number of sub-Legal Aid Units to 9 in the following governorates: Dakahlia, Gharbia, Behera, Beni Suef, Port Said, Minia, Qalubia, Aswan and Giza.
The agreement was signed by both Mr. Abdullah Al-Mokadem, head of Giza Regional Union of NGOs, and Mr. Ehab Sallam, director of the Empowering Civil Society and the Legal Profession, as a representative of the United Group. The aim of this agreement is to establish a sub-Legal Aid Unit in Giza governorate, to provide NGOs with legal consultations, file lawsuits for NGOs when needed, holding legal awareness sessions for NGOs, as well as providing the NGOs, signatories of protocols of cooperation with the United Group, with the publications and researches issued by the project.
