Dated, December 24, 2009, Sunaa Al-Hayah (Life Makers) Association organized a discussion seminar on public funds abuse at "Mansoura Sports Club." The seminar witnessed the attendance of numerous communities represented in the attendance of representatives of NGOs, members of the local councils of Dakahlia and a number of lawyers, media and part secretariats.
Mr. Nabil Al-Dib, chairman of the association, opened the seminar by a speech in which he welcomed the audience, thanked the United Group, highlighted the role of NGOs in monitoring negative phenomena in society and illustrated the devastating effects of the spread of public funds abuse phenomenon.
After that Mr. Al-Dib presented the irregularities that take place at the club including: the officials' laziness in holding ledgers for registering memberships, which violates article (8) of regulation No. 85/2008, as well as failing to follow the established procedures for admission. Furthermore, the officials at the club signed contracts with some coaches that might lead to abusing the club's funds. This comes in the framework of the activities of the "Community Action towards Transparency" project, implemented by the United Group with the support of the United States Agency for International Development and based on the protocols of cooperation signed between the United Group and civil society associations.
