An article of Mr. Negad El-Borai published in Al-Masry Al-Youm (Egyptian today) newspaper on 09\27\2008 to comment on two articles of Dr. Abd El-Mouneam Said in which he praises a report on subsidy policies in Egypt in one and reviews some economic indicators which he believes that they prove the improvement of the conditions of Egyptians in the other.

El-Borai believes that Dr. Said was wrong in the two articles as facts are so clear and can't be ignored however we they try to manipulate them. These facts include: the suicide of some Egyptians to escape hunger due to extreme poverty, the UNDP 2007-2008 report that states that 4 million Egyptians suffer from hunger, 80% of the country's wealth lies in the hands of 20% of the population, rising prices and the inability of the government to handle the disasters that occurs due to its neglect and poor efficiency.

El-Borai believes that Dr. Abd El-Moneam's numbers on the increasing numbers of internet and mobile phones services can't face the aforementioned facts, even the fact that the state pays 24% of its budget as subsidy for strategic commodities is meaningless in light of the connection between authority and wealth and between business and government.
