Dated October 23-14, 2009, Negad el-Borai participated in a workshop at Windsor University in Canada. The workshop was entitled "Beyond Apology and Utopia: Critical Engagements with Good Governance in the Arab World." The main objective of this workshop was the evaluation of the Canadian foreign policy toward the Middle East, regarding supporting democratic transformation, good governance and human rights.

The workshop was attended by a number of law and political science professors, media experts, civil society and human rights activists as well as Canadian officials who presented their papers throughout six main sessions over the two days.
Mr. Negad El-Borai presented his paper during the second session, that tackled human rights, the paper is entitled "Civil Society and Human Rights in Egypt: Egyptian- Style Waltz."
